How to Submit Sitemaps to Google Blogspot

 

I've been working on optimizing my Blogspot blog recently, particularly focusing on the sitemap. The challenge with Google Blogger is that it doesn't allow file uploads, so all settings have to be managed through the system or limited HTML code, leaving very little room for customization.

While setting up the sitemap, I couldn't find any upload interface. My online searches only yielded offline sitemap.xml files, but I could not upload the sitemap.xml to the blog's root directory. Feeling quite stuck, I stumbled upon a suggestion to directly include the sitemap.xml in the robots.txt file. I thought it was worth a try, and to my surprise, it worked!

The first step: go to your Google Search Console;

The second step: go to Sitemaps as shown in the picture, click it;

The third step: go to Add a new sitemap at the right side of the page, fill in the blank with the full url address like: https://goldenbudsled.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml, and then click the blue button to submit, yes, just put sitemap.xml after your domain name, and it works.

This unexpected solution highlights the challenges of working with Blogspot, but it also demonstrates the power of experimentation and the importance of exploring unconventional approaches. While Blogspot offers limited customization options, finding creative workarounds like this can significantly improve your site's performance and searchability.

Going forward, I plan to further explore the potential of the robots.txt file and other limited options available within the Blogger platform to optimize my blog's visibility and search engine ranking. This experience has taught me the value of persistence and resourcefulness when working within the constraints of a platform like Blogspot.

这两天一直在研究如何更好的设置 blogspot，尤其是在 sitemap 的问题上耗费了不少时间，因为 google blogger 不接受上传文件，所有的设置都只能靠系统或者有限的html 代码来实现，可以发挥的空间非常有限。我在设置这个 sitemap的时候一直没找到上传接口，在网上搜来搜去也只有离线 sitemap.xml文件，实在没办法之际，看到有人直接在 robots.txt 里面设置 sitemap.xml，心想可以试试看。没想到竟然歪打正着。

直接去 google search console, 在下面的 sitemap 选项中，填写你的完整域名，然后把 sitemap.xml放在域名后面，再点击提交就可以了。就是这么简单。
